2021-2022 November to January in Thailand at 3 different Four Seasons

We went to Thailand for 2 months! We started planning this in July 2021. We had telephone conversations with the director of rooms a three different Four Seasons in Thailand to make sure we could use our Elite benefits and have room upgrades and the other benefits. Then we made reservations at the Four Seasons Koh Samui for one month. Our next Four Seasons will be in Bangkok and our third Four Seasons stay will be in Chiang Mai. Before we leave Thailand we will have a second stay in Bangkok. For twenty years we meandered the globe on a frugally chic budget. Now our budget seems to be more chic than frugal.

Dimitri spent hours, days really, figuring out our flight arrangements. After we decided that we were flying Business Class he decided we should fly Qatar because it's rated Number One in the world these days. The cabin in Business Class is special. It's called Qsuite. We also hired a travel agent for the first time. Getting to Thailand should be half the fun.

But before we got there, we had to jump through COVID hoops which was really not fun. First, of course, we needed to get visas because we were staying in Thailand for two months. That was a frustrating process because the embassy changed Audre's last name to Dimitri's. Getting that fixed was a bear. After getting the visas, we had to get what is known as a Thai Pass that has our vaccination record, proof of insurance, proof of payment for our hotel and the rest of the requirements. The system was clogged and we had to just wait and wait. A week before our take-off, we got the Thai Passes.

Traveling will have challenges and not just because of COVID. It's the unknown unknowns that we can't prepare for that worry us. But we think that it will be worth it! More on that as the trip unfolds.
