2018 Summer in Vail

We've had a glorious summer in the Vail Valley. We're healthy and happy. We've been hiking with Vail Club 50, mountain biking, socializing, entertaining, going to hear world-class orchestras and dance performances at our festivals. We use our outdoor hot tubs at the Four Seasons Resort Vail almost every day, meeting and talking to the other guests.

Our big news is that we have bought e-mountain bikes. We are able to ride on steep dirt roads for greater distances than we ever could with our regular old bikes. It will add years to our mountain biking. Our hikes are longer too--the longest one this summer was 8 hours!

The other big news is that the Vail Daily wrote an article about us.

On our e-mountain bikes, we climbed on Tigwon Road up from the Community House to the trailhead for Half Moon Pass. Then we locked them up and started up the trail. We were astounded by the bull moose eating not far away. He was humungous. The pictures, even with zoom, do not do him justice. We didn't want to spook him, although he knew we were there. So we stayed at a respectable distance and took the best pictures we could. Have a look.
