2007 Roadtrip San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina

We left at 8:05 a.m. from Puyehue in order to get to the border controls before the buses. Got to Chilean Border Control at 8:30 a.m. and we were finished by 8:45 a.m!

Then we drove the few km to the Argentinean Border control and were finished by 9:30 a.m. Not a bad experience; especially compared to entering Chile from Peru!

San Carlos de Bariloche was 176 km from Puyehue. When we got there we checked Hotel Huinid, Design Suites, and Villa Sofia. None were suitable for us. Dimitri had done research online and thought that we might find something good for us for the season at Arelauquen Lodge Golf & Polo, Ruta 82, Lago Gutiérez, San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Argentina, tel (54-2994)467-626 http://www.arelauquenlodge.com/. So we went to the hotel there and paid the price for a tiny, uncomfortable room (Room 212) US$177/AP$548.70.

Fortunately, we only had to stay at the hotel at Arelauquen for two nights because we did, in fact, find a lovely house to rent on the golf course there. And then the fun started with a gargantuan snowstorm!
