2009 July & August in Tsuen Wan Hong Kong

Before we tried to leave Hong Kong on July 22nd for Shanghai (click here to read about it), we looked and looked for an apart hotel in the New Territories for our stay when we returned to HK after visiting China. Finally, following new links through a Google search, Dimitri found a place for us to check. It was bigger (660 sq. ft.), better and cheaper than we had in Tin Wan, Aberdeen, so we made a deal with them. As much as we enjoyed our Tin Wan and Aberdeen neighborhoods, we wanted to expore a new area of Hong Kong (click here to read about our stay in the Tin Wan and Aberdeen area).

So, after our aborted trip to Shanghai, we checked into The Bay Bridge (Apt. 1037, No. 123 Castle Peak Rd., Yau Kom Tau, Tsuen Wan, Kowloon, H.K., Tel (852) 2945-1111, e-mail: tbb@hanglung.com, web: http://www.hanglung.com/ ) The rent we negotiated for a real one-bedroom was HK$14500 per month/US$1883 or approximately US$63 a day. We had a gym and a pool on the premises, and although they were not as nice as Le Meridien, they were fine. We were right on the bay (with no road below us) and had a lovely (and quiet) view of the Ting Kau Bridge.

And, we had a whole new area of Hong Kong to discover and new restaurants to try! Click here to read our restaurant reviews for the Metropolitan Hong Kong area, including Tsuen Wan.
