We are often asked what we "do" when we stay in a foreign place for months at a time. Well we live. And we do the things we like to do on a daily basis. It's just that we are doing them in a different locale.
So, what did we do in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for three months in 2012? We rented a house in a lovely spot where we were happy to hang out, or entertain or just live there. Click here to have a look at it.
We tried to exercise an hour a day either hiking, biking or going to the gym at the Rosewood Hotel in or to be Younger Next Year. We hiked with Jock Ferguson (and his happy gaggle of loyal hikers) on Sundays and alone (or with friends) during the week. We biked on our mountain bikes out of the back gate of our gated community and into the countryside of dirt roads, perfect for mountain biking.
We socialized with the Social Newcomers Club in San Miguel on Tuesday evenings. Often on Wednesday evenings we would go to the Playreaders. We went to dinner parties and we had dinners at home.
We were tourists extraordinaire in San Miguel and in the surroundings.
And we worked at our computers, watched our favorite TV programs and movies. So, we did the things we like to do and learned about the food and the culture of a different county and town to boot!
